How to Set Monthly Goals to Achieve Larger Goals

It’s common for us to hear that setting goals is key for us to achieve what we want in life. But, we often have a hard time actually setting and achieving these goals.

Goal setting is often made to be more complicated than it seems. Here are some strategies that I use to set monthly goals and help me make progress in my life.

Set Goals for Just One Month

In order to kick start your success, set a goal one month at a time, each month. Your monthly goals should be just a portion of your larger goals.

Monthly goals are to help you get one step closer to the bigger goals you want to achieve, while keeping things manageable. Start by setting a goal for the upcoming month at the end of every month.

Make your goals SMART

SMART is an acronym meaning specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time bound. By using the SMART method to plan your goals, this will make them much more achievable and trackable. Achievable and trackable goals leads to progress and success.

Write your goals down:

Get yourself a notebook, a planner, a calendar or anything that you could use to write down and measure exactly where you want to be in one month. You can use this to track what you have done and what you still need to do.

Take Action!

This is the step where most people fail. You’ve written down your goals, you have a plan, you’re feeling good, why stop now? Most of the times, that first step is the hardest but it’s exactly what people need to get them up and moving. This is where your progress will either kick start or be hindered.

It’s best to apply these strategies at the end of each month, prior to the upcoming month. By applying these strategies, you will find yourself more successful and on the way towards the bigger goals in your life.
